Sunrise or Sunset?

“Sunrise or Sunset?”
Which do you prefer? Sunrise or Sunset? Why? Do they symbolize anything to you? I like both the sunrise and sunset for different reasons but if I had to choose, I would pick the sunrise.
The sunrise is the start of a new day; the promise of a new beginning. Everything is fresh and clean. The dawn of something new and exciting. The day is an opportunity to create a difference.
Yesterday is gone, you can be done with it. You can’t change it. Learn from it and start over.
I can bask in the warmth and glow of the sun. The sunrise provides a sense of hope and anticipation. It gives me the chance to stop and regroup before the flurry of activity begins.
The excitement prepares me for all the challenges of the day ahead. I feel like I can do anything, accomplish anything, like I am unstoppable!
Ah, the sunset. Absolutely breathtaking. Often a spectrum of colors, pink, purple, orange. Hard to turn your eyes away. The sunset provides a time of relaxation. A time for reflection on your day.
Hopefully, you can look back on your day with pride and a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment. It is a deep satisfaction to be productive and to achieve your objectives.
The sunset is a sign that it is time to rest. You have done what you can do and now it is time to rest and regain energy for another day.
What do you prefer - The Sunrise or the Sunset? Why? What do they mean to you?

I’m going to have to go with the sunset here… While I can’t deny that it’s magical when the sun rises, I’m definitely not a morning person! When I think “sunrise”, I think “doh! too early!”
I’ve seen some truly amazing sunsets, and night time is a great time too!

definitely morning person all the way! no decision there, but by the time the sunset gets here I’m ready.
I don’t get to see either. I’m not a morning person and never up before the sunrise, and at the moment the sun sets before I leave work in the evenings, so I don’t get to see it either. From memory though, I love sunrise, they’re very cold to witness though:)

I usually go to bed early so I almost always see the sunrise. and it’s my favorite time of day, morning people are small in numbers..so it’s not usually crowded!
Hey Dee,
I’m certainly a sunrise person. Although naturally not a morning person, at the times when I do force myself to get up before dawn I love the stillness and quiet that exists.
Everybody awake at that time seems to be friendly, bright and fresh. If I take a dawn bike ride, everybody I pass, be it joggers, dog walkers or somebody else, all make eye contact with me and say good morning.
I see a sunset every day. To me, it feels very normal and it feels too much like the end of something good.
A sunrise, on the other hand, is something I experience probably 20 times a summer at the most and feels new and fresh. The feeling of cold to warm as the sun rises is a much better feeling to me than warm to cool as the sun sets.
And when the sun sets, the world still seems to continue. It takes several hours before it calms down. Whereas when a sun rises, everything (birds, plants and people) seem to come to life very quickly.
Sunsets are great to look at and admire, but sunrises have much more meaning to me.

@ Hello Jamie
I like the sunrise for all of the same reasons! If I miss the sunrise for any reason it kind of throws off my whole day like something is missing or I’m behind or can’t catch up..After an especially hard day, I welcome the sunset for my rest..
I probably enjoy the sunsets more. the light seems more dramatic and intense during the early evening…and heck, getting in bed always follows.

They each have their own beauty but I am way more a morning person! go go go!
I prefer the sunrise though I’m not really sure why. There seems to be some sort of hopeful promise for the day maybe. I’m also a morning person - though I frequently stay up too late.

Hi Kim,
Good to see you. The sunrise gives me the same feeling, just puts excitement in my attitude. I am definitely a morning person even if this blog keeps me up like the big kids, still up and happy early!
I’d have to go for sunset - it symbolises the end of another day and the kids will be going to bed soon. Time for my husband and I to enjoy some peace and quiet.

Ah yes, I remember those days! I probably liked sunsets better back then too, sunrise would mean a whole lot of work ahead! Today sunrise has the “promise” feeling and sunset has the “calm and peaceful satisfaction” feeling (hopefully)
