I Don’t Want To..

Sounds like a little kid, but there are a lot of things I can say “I don’t want to” about. I love to hear kids whine that “when they are big they are not going to have to do anything they don’t want to do.” They are not going to take a nap or eat all their veggies. Naps are a luxury. Yeah, they aren’t so amused when they realize there are a lot of things they “have to do”.

Some will say, you do not have to do anything you don’t want to do. There is a small amount of truth to that statement.

For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Yeah, you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do, but there will be consequences. Consequences – that has a negative sound to it, but not necessarily. What s the worst that can happen?

I don’t want to.. How does it happen that the weekend goes by so fast yet the week drags on and on? No one wants to wish their life away but I do live for the weekends.

I’ve never had a job that I dreaded getting up for until now. I’m not sure why really, cause I don’t have a lot to complain about. Maybe I just don’t want to work for anyone else. I worked for myself for the past 20+ years so it is difficult to work for someone else. I actually like to work. I don’t have any physical work to do during the day. I barely get up from my chair! It’s not really challenging or different.

On the weekends I work around our property a lot and I enjoy every minute of it. We are clearing a lot that my husband’s parents gave us. It is my pride and joy – literally. Not enough time though. I would never leave if I didn’t have to.

We have had something scheduled every weekend for the last month! Ugh. I am more of a spontaneous person rather than a planner! If I feel like going, I like to decide at the moment, that way I am not obligated to attend.

Do you do anything that you don’t want to do? What do you do when you are required or obligated to do something you don’t want to do?

i think everyday people do what they dont want to do. I know i do. I agree with the “i dont want to get out of bed for work,” but alot of people think that. I also dont want to do the chores in my house but i have to. There are alot of things i dont want to do.. haha anyway i also live for the weekends.

I guess we all have something to whine about in that department…

sooo? what about the new layout??

I do things I don’t want to do, but I do them so fast I never knew I didn’t have to do them. :-D

Hope that makes some sense. I try to get those things out of the way as fast as I can. Experience has shown the longer I leave them, the harder they get to do and the more stress I put on myself.

Get them done before you even have chance to question whether or not you want to do it, and all will be rosy. :-)

Unfortunately, I do just the opposite. I do all kinds of “very important” tasks to avoid the “stuff” I don’t like. I know, I know. Doesn’t get any better, usually worse. On the rare occasion when I do get it out of the way, it feels really good. That will be one of my self improvement goals. Thanks for the motivation Jamie! Have a great day.

Do you do anything that you don’t want to do? Yep, I go to work.

What do you do when you are required or obligated to do something you don’t want to do? I do it, most times. I try to keep my word. My yes is yes and my no is no. That’s the difference between being an adult and a kid.

I try to do the most difficult, and the things I can’t stand first so I can get them out of the way. Then I can concentrate on the things I enjoy doing, or that are simple. It kind of speeds the day along.

  7. @ Natural

I suppose every adult does the things they don’t want to do, hopefully not on a daily basis. and hopefully it’s balanced with all the great things you WANT to do!

    @ Eric

I’ve heard that more than once so I guess I will give it a try to get the not so nice stuff out of the way first, at least I’ll put 15 minutes towards it.
