A Blogger Newbie’s “To do” list.. There are several daily tasks of a blogger. The main function of a blog is to write – to blog. Bloggers have a social “responsibility”. A blogger should have at least a basic idea of web design and html. So much to do, so little time! What’s a blogger to do?

Blogging is a creative process. You are trying to inform, entertain, be interesting – engage readers. Occasionally to offer an opinion, sometimes to discuss facts, often to teach or instruct – the essential component of interacting with your peers, friends, followers – a sense of community. What’s a blogger to do? Some bloggers frequently have guest writers. This can bring a different flare to your blog. I’ve seen sites that are entirely guest writers. There is no resident blogger – no “Blogger Inside”.

Writing is the first function of a blog and blogger. However, there are many other functions that are just as important.

Social responsibility? How hard is this job? That is my favorite part of blogging. As a member of the blogging community and the desire to be successful, it is imperative that you socialize. I belong to several organizations in my earthly community and I often volunteer at local events. I try to sign up for the social supervisor – mingle among our guests and make sure everyone is having a good time – unfortunately, that job only last the first few minutes! The social aspect of blogging – networking amongst your peers or colleagues is vital to your success. This tip is crucial in any business. I know, blogging is so fun it’s hard to think of it as a business. I can’t count how many social networks are “open for business”. “Twitter” comes to the front of my mind. There is also “Facebook” and “MySpace”, and too many more to mention. How many social networks should you belong to? I don’t think anyone knows what number that is. Go to different sites, get a feel for how they operate, what options they have, the ease of use, and join! – Sign up, start commenting, start sharing!

Web design and html!…How can something so easy be so difficult? help-key.jpg The problem is simple. I have yet to find a website that explains ALL the detail of writing html. All of the websites that I have research so far (and that number is large!) don’t seem to give you all of the instructions. For example, they do not stress the importance of space or no space! I have struggled hours on simple html codes to discover (on my own) the simple mistakes that weren’t defined in the instruction! I’ll find the right website, then link to it in several differnent posts. I may even create a separate page!

Blogging sounds easy then: Write a little someting, go visit with other bloggers and learn a little computer language! Easy and fun! It is if you enjoy what you are doing. Where are the blogging “old timers” that have been at this for awhile? Do you still enjoy blogging today as much as you did on day one? Can you remember day one anymore?
